Therapy Services

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends an hourly rate of $260 per hour for psychological services. To enable family’s better access to our service we charge a reduced rate of $170. Clients who are attending therapy under a Mental Health Care Plan will receive a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Please note that we are unable to provide bulk billing and that there is an out-of-pocket cost to attending appointments.

Private Health Insurance is accepted at Apple Tree Psychology to claim a portion of your session fee. We also can accept bookings without a referral from your Doctor.

All services must be paid for in full at the start of each session by EFTPOS or you may choose to enrol in our automatic invoicing system. We are happy to discuss this further with you.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Apple Tree Psychology’s service costs policy is that all services must be paid in full on the day of service.

We welcome NDIS families who are plan-managed and can invoice your plan manager. Due to the delay in payment and the additional administrative time associated with invoicing plan managers, Apple Tree Psychology will charge the current NDIS rate for these appointments. You will need to provide us with your plan manager details before your first appointment and all invoices for services will be directed to them.

Please note that we are not able to see NDIS managed clients.

Assessment, Telephone Calls and Liaison with other Agencies

From time-to-time you may be in need of additional reports or assistance with liaising with other services. Please contact us and we will advise the cost for this additional assistance. Payment will be required before services are rendered.

Missed appointment and Cancellation fees

At Apple Tree Psychology we recognise that life happens, and circumstances can occur which means that appointments are missed or cancelled at short notice. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to allow the appointment to be offered to other clients. Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment time are unable to be filled and a cancellation fee of $88 will apply. Cancellation fees must be paid prior to your next schedule appointment. If the cancellation fee is not paid or arrangements to pay the cancellation fee has not been arranged, your next appointment may be cancelled.

As a courtesy, a reminder text message will be sent 2 days prior to your scheduled appointment. However, the responsibility for keeping track of appointments remains with you regardless of whether or not the reminders are received. Families accessing services through the NDIS are able to pay for cancellation fees using their funding and these are charged at the standard NDIS rate.
